It's Nearly Comic Con Time

Well It's come around pretty quickly but Saturday is Nottingham Comic Con and I can't wait!! This is the first con I've done in about 3 years so It'll be good to get stuck back in to it all.

I've been busy over the last few weeks building up stock and have made what seems like millions of bunnies as well as the LIA's (Literary Art Invasion) which is basically hand drawn book page art.

This year I'll be set up on the upper level next to my mate Beano illustrator extraordinaire Steve Beckett which you can see in the map below. So if you're in the area or looking for something cool to do then pop along and say hi, it's going to be a brilliant day.

Nottingham Comic Con

Hi Folks

Some very cool news for you all today. After a bit of a hiatus from the comic scene, I will be attending the awesome Nottingham Comic Con again this year and I can't wait. It's on the 20th October at the Nottingham Conference Centre and will undoubtedly be even cooler than the last time I was there.
There are some fantastic guests there including the Etherington brothers, Marc Laming and Steve Beckett. On top of this there are loads of exhibitors from all walks of the comic world as well as live music and other cool stuff.
So if you're in the Nottingham area or fancy a trip out then come along, say hi and see what cool stuff I'll be bringing along.

That however is about to change. The Pickle is back and so is the Apple Tree Pirates I'm working on the first book as we speak and will be updating much more frequently. So watch this space for more cool stuff. :-)

2016

Happy New Year Everyone.

Well It's February and as yet I haven't blogged once. Shocking I know but there's loads of changes going on in the pickle jar which mean 2016 is going to be the start of very different times.
Firstly don't panic I'm not packing it all in to live in the woods somewhere. I shall still be drawing and creating, hopefully in a much more productive manner. I will however be doing something very different as my career and day to day job.
But what's this I hear you say I thought this was your career?! and yes you're exactly right this is how I've been eking out a meagre income over the last few years. Now don't get me wrong it's been great but there have been some significant down sides to it as well, but that's another story.

I've been doing a bit of work with Grimsby uni of late helping teach art at the Saturday club (which I'll explain more in another post), this coupled with doing homework with our now 5 yr old daughter has made me realise I actually enjoy teaching.

As a result I've had a long hard look at my direction and have decided to go back to university and do my PGCE to train up and become a primary school teacher.

So as you can see all change. It also means I'll be adding some different items to the blog as I change stuff around. Here's to the new year and let's see what it brings.
