The New Web Store

Hello everybody.
Over the last few months I've been really busy working on the fantastic extension to the Pickle. Namely our cool shop in Grimsby 'Made By'. Its been hard work as im sure anybody setting up a business/shop will tell you but were starting to get a lot more people through the door from word of mouth which is a fantastic and underrated form of advertising. As well as the shop I built a little web shop which served a purpose but was generally speaking pretty pants. Now however I've been busy squirrelling away and have finally launched the new site. Yes you heard correct the new webshop is live and ready for your perusal. 

It has a lot more fancy stuff going on behind the scenes including security features as well as new stock and new layout which should make your shopping experience run more smoothly. So if you're in or around the Grimsby area please feel free to drop in the shop and say hello. However if you can't make it for what ever reason then now you can buy with confidence online and still get all the same cool stuff.

The Shop Cometh

Hi Folks. I'm sure you've all seen me babbling on about moving house recently. Well one of the main reasons for the move was because we managed to find a property with a shop space to expand the business to a new level. We have now got the green light on the shop which is attached to our house and will be starting work on it at the beginning of April. Until now everything has been a little hush hush as we didn't want to tempt fate too much, but now its official. The new shop will be called 'Made By' and will stock all the clumsy pickle range as well as a whole host of other items we have been working on over the last few months. About 95% of everything in store will be hand made or designed by us and will be unlike anything else in the area. There will be an online shop as well so if you're not around Grimsby and can't get to the shop then you'll still be able to buy all of our range via the wonders of the internet.  The twitter account and facebook page are running now so come and say hi I'll keep you posted of all the upcoming news. twitter :- @wearemadeby facebook :- wearemadeby

A New Chapter

Good evening one and all. I hope you're all doing well. Things have been a little busy of late here at the pickle, hence the distinct lack of blogging. We moved house on the last Wednesday of Feb and were slowly getting a semblance of normality back. The new place is a Georgian gem so high ceilings and tall skirting boards all round. We're slowly doing it up as you can see from the pictures of the living room below, so it's definitely a work in progress. Part of the reason we moved to this new place is because of the fantastic opportunity in the form of the shop that were going to be renting with it. Yes that's right folks I said shop!!! Coming soon will be a new shop stocking Clumsy Pickle artwork as well as all sorts of other cool stuff that I'll surprise you with later. So for now I'll leave you with these tantalising glimpses of the new chapter in the Clumsy Pickle story.

 

Literary Art Invasion

Hi Everyone I thought I'd write a little blog to explain to you all what the Literary Art Invasion or LIA is all about. In a nutshell an LIA consists of a page from a vintage book with a unique illustration drawn upon it. In most cases the illustration is directly relevant to the book. For example I have been doing a lot of Alice in wonderland pages recently with various scenes from the story drawn on them. Or in the case of the below a Dalek on a collage of pages from 'Death of the Daleks'.

I also do triple framed LIA's which are great for wedding presents, anniversaries or all manner of occasions.
