Post Con Rush

I thought I'd write a little post to keep you updated on everything in the pickle jar. Last weekend was spent at Nottingham Comic Con and was absolutely brilliant.
From a purely business perspective I sold quite a bit stuff which is always good. However attending a con is never purely about making money which is like an added bonus. I got to hang around with all the guys and chat comics and cool art stuff and I even an art got a mojo refill.

On the back of this I have been working on something since coming back that I have been promising to do for a very long time.
I have been keeping notes for ages now on the random bits and pieces my 4yr old comes out with. Some of which are complete gems.
In a nutshell I am making a series of comic strips based around characters invented by my daughter. The plan is to put them up on the blog once a week and take it from there. I won't call it a webcomic as such, it's more of 'Blomic' (Blog-Comic) see what I did there :-)

Anyway there will be updates very soon.

Nottingham Comic Con

Its all getting exciting over here at the pickle jar. On October the 4th I will be exhibiting at Nottingham Comic Con. This is the second year it's been running  now (it was called NerdFest last year). There are a load of very cool comic guests and exhibitors going, so if you get the chance pop on over and say hi.
I will be taking all sorts of things with me this year including sketch cards, custom kicks, and LIA's. I will also be taking all the 'Project Cornelius' stuff with me and some very cool comics I've been working on with people. As if that wasn't enough I'm doing a special Landmark print for Nottingham which will not be available anywhere before then.

So all in all I can't wait. If you fancy coming along then check out the website for details.

See you all soon

The latest cards

Hello Everybody. I thought I'd write a little post to show you some of the greetings cards I've been making over the past few months. I've been working on a range of graphic cards with this and the 'You're my Lobster' card being the first. There are a load more sat on the computer ready to go to print too so more updates soon.

These cards are all hand made from vintage card games. The top ones are from a 1950s happy families game and the bottom ones are Lexicon which i used to love playing when I was younger.

These Burlesque cards are the first cards I ever made several years ago now. They are a little bit of fun and still a great seller.
I am always working on new cards and we will have all sorts of new ones available soon. You can buy all of these cards on our website here

Project Cornelius

As I am working full steam ahead on what I'm affectionately calling 'Project Cornelius' aka the comic and kickstarter 'The Intrepid Endeavours of Cornelius Blow' I thought I would add a page to the top of the site so you can see exactly where everything is. I will carry on writing blog updates etc however the bulk of the information will be on the page.

Over the next few weeks there will be sneaky peeks of pages and artwork as well as information on how you guys can help the project out. So watch out for details folks.

Custom Kicks

Hi folks

As part of 'Made By' I have been working on all sorts of different creative things lately. One of the most well received has to be the Custom Kicks.

The custom kicks are hand painted canvas shoes in pretty much any design you can think of. So far I have done quite a few tattoo inspired pairs, as well as adventure time kids shoes. In the shop I also have some Marvel superhero ones I've been working on.

If you fancy getting hold of a pair for yourself then drop an email to hello@wearemadeby.com and we can chat about what you might want. Prices are from £20 for kids shoes up to £40 for adults hightops. Plus postage.

The Comic and Kickstarter

Hi Everyone

My comic project 'The Intrepid Endeavours of Cornelius Blow' is finally making good progress with 48 pages planned out ready for assembly. This project has been a big part of my creative life for several years now and it feels really good to actually have a plan and product starting to happen.
The comic is a steampunk adventure with reluctant superpowers and mad science. What more could you want. Unlike many comics it will be presented in a very different way which is something I'm hoping will make it stand out from the crowd.
I'm currently in the process of researching a kickstarter for it so that all these years of hard work can finally be brought to all you lovely people. So for now all I'm asking is for you to spread the word about the project and if possible fill in this simple survey question below.

Thank you and I shall keep you updated of progress.
